西门子正打造Brightline混合柴油电动列车

西门子(Siemens)在混合能源解决方案上有着悠久的历史,甚至远远早于美国宇航局(NASA)就参与了混合电动飞机的研发和制造。援引商业内幕报道在一项私人投资项目中,西门子将会为初创合资公司 Brightline 创建混合柴油电动列车。

该项目的初步目标是连接迈阿密、劳德代尔堡和西棕榈滩,建成之后迈阿密和劳德代尔堡之间的路程时间将回缩短至 30 分钟,允许日常通勤者和观光客更快更环保地进行穿梭。

该混合柴油电动列车最高时速为 125mph(约合 201.2kph),速度可能比不上其他国家的列车,但是要比目前正在服役的 Amtrack 列车(约 128.7kph)要快很多。

该列车采用 4000 马力的康明斯柴油发电机驱动,此外还有一个重量为 42000 磅(约合 19.05 吨)的 16 缸发电机提供电力,列车上所使用的线缆长度达到了 42 英里。
